Project name: Metabolic control and economy of microorganisms in dynamic environments.
Microorganisms are inevitably subjected to unpredictable fluctuations in their environment. Under such conditions, microbes have evolved numerous metabolic and energetic tricks to assure survival and robustness. I study these traits with special focus on phosphate accumulating organisms.
